Close your till

At the end of your shift, choose Close till and count the drawer note by note, float included. POS and transfers aren’t counted here. Gasos works out what the drawer should hold: the float, plus cash taken, less cash refunds.

When the manager closes your till

The mart manager can close a till from Mart day (choose the till, then Close till), for example when a cashier leaves it open. If your device was offline, it may still have sales to send.
  • Sales made before the close are kept: the customer paid and the cash was in the drawer when it was counted. Gasos adds them to the till’s expected cash, and Mart day shows “1 sale arrived after it was closed” on that till, so the manager can check the count with you.
  • Sales made after the close aren’t added to the closed till. The till stops selling and shows who closed it and when: “This till was closed by Ada at 18:40. Open a new till to keep selling.” Choose Open a new till. Those sales stay on your device and go on the new till with their cash, so leave that cash out of the new float. Their receipts note that they were moved.
Gasos goes by the time on your device, with a two-minute margin for clocks that differ. Keep the device’s date and time right.

Close the mart’s day

When every till is closed, the mart manager opens Mart day and chooses Close the day. Mart day shows:
  • each till: float, cash expected, counted, and short or over;
  • the day’s net sales, cash, POS, transfers and VAT;
  • best sellers, and every receipt (open one to reprint it).
Once the day is closed its figures are final, and no till can be opened on that date. If a sale made before its till closed only reaches Gasos after the day is closed, it’s kept in the day’s receipts and stock, but the closed figures and the station’s sheet don’t change. Mart day lists how many sales arrived late and their total, so the manager can check the cash with the cashier.

On the station’s daily sheet

The station’s sheet has a read-only Mart section with the mart’s takings for the day, and a link to the mart day. The station manager doesn’t close the mart.
  • Mart cash banked separately: nothing else changes on the sheet.
  • Mart cash handed to the forecourt: the mart’s cash is added to the station’s cash to bank, and the sheet can’t be submitted until the mart’s day is closed.
Lubricants linked to a mart product show what the mart sold of them, with no count needed.
