Gasos keeps your station running when the network drops. Readings, photos and till sales are saved on the device and sent when the connection returns. A few things have to be in place first, and a few rules keep unsent work safe. This page covers them all.
Offline works best in the installed app. See Install the app.

Before you rely on it

Do these on each phone, tablet or till computer, with a connection:
  1. Install Gasos and sign in.
  2. Open the pages your team works on: Today, the daily sheet list, today’s sheet and the till. Gasos keeps a copy of each page you open.
  3. Open the till once. The till downloads your product list. Until it has, it can’t open offline and says Connect once to load the products.
  4. Close the app and open it again to check it starts.
A quick test: turn on airplane mode, close the app fully and open it. You should land in your workspace with the offline note at the top.

What works offline

These always need a connection:
  • Opening a new day and submitting a sheet
  • Reports, credit and fleet, settings and billing
  • Signing in, and switching to a workspace not used on this device
A note at the top tells you you’re offline and when the figures were last updated. When the connection returns, Gasos refreshes the screen and sends what’s waiting, in order.

When you need a connection again

  • After an update. When we release a new version, open Gasos once with a connection before going offline again. Until you do, pages show Not available offline yet.
  • Every 14 days. What’s kept on the device expires after 14 days without opening Gasos online.
  • Till sales within 7 days. A sale more than 7 days old can’t sync. If a till has been offline for days, get it online as soon as you can.
  • New products or prices. The till sells at the prices it last downloaded. Changes made elsewhere reach the till the next time it’s online.

Keep unsent work safe

Until it syncs, unsent work exists only on that device.
Before you log out, hand the device to another cashier, clear the browser’s data or uninstall the app, connect and wait until nothing is waiting. The till badge and the sheet header show how many changes are waiting.
  • Logging out removes your workspace and saved pages from the device, but keeps sales and readings that haven’t been sent. If anything is still waiting, Gasos warns you first and says how much. If you log out anyway, it’s recorded in the company’s activity log.
  • Sales sync under the person signed in when they’re sent. If cashier A logs out with sales waiting and cashier B signs in, those sales are refused because the till session belongs to A. A manager can sync them, but they’ll be recorded under the manager. Let each cashier’s sales sync before the handover.
  • Don’t share one sign-in between cashiers. Each person signs in as themselves, so sales and cash counts are recorded under the right person.
  • Refused sales show at the top of the till with the reason, for example a sale on a till that was closed on another device. Tell the mart manager.

What’s kept on the device

Only what you could see in Gasos, from the pages listed above. Reports, customer accounts, bank details and settings are never kept on the device. Logging out removes the saved pages. When a different person signs in on the same device, the previous person’s saved pages are removed.

If it doesn’t open offline

  • It shows “You’re offline” with no workspace. This device hasn’t opened Gasos online yet, it was more than 14 days ago, or the last person logged out. Connect once and open your workspace.
  • A page says “Not available offline yet”. It wasn’t opened online on this device since the last update. Open it once when you’re connected.
  • The till says “Connect once to load the products”. Open the till once with a connection.
